Smithville-Gibson County Community Partnership Grants Program

Overview
The Gibson County Community Foundation is pleased to announce a second grant cycle in 2012.  This special, one-time funding opportunity has been made possible by a grant to the Gibson County Community Foundation from the Smithville Charitable Foundation to address important issues in Gibson County.  The Smithville Charitable Foundation partners with community foundations throughout Indiana in counties served by Smithville Communications.  The Gibson County Community Foundation is pleased to partner with the Smithville Charitable Foundation to increase charitable funding in the community.

Grant Program Orientation Meeting
In lieu of a group orientation session, prospective grant applicants are invited to schedule a meeting with the Foundation's director, Tami Muckerheide, to receive an overview of the funding opportunity and to ask specific questions.  Contact Tami at 812.386.8082 or tami@gibsoncountyfoundation.org to schedule an orientation meeting.

Eligibility
The Foundation welcomes proposals from nonprofit organizations that are deemed tax-exempt under sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code and from governmental agencies serving the county. Proposals from nonprofit organizations not classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity may be considered provided the project is charitable and supports a community need.  In some cases, organizations without the 501(c)(3) designation may be required to obtain a fiscal sponsor.

Fiscal Sponsors
Applications submitted by an entity under the auspices of another agency (designated as a 501(c)(3) public charity) must include a written statement signed by the agency's board president on behalf of the board of directors agreeing to act as the entity's fiscal sponsor, to receive grant monies if awarded, and to oversee the proposed project.
