Past Lilly Endowment Community Scholars

2011 Lilly Scholarship Recipients  

Peter Hall, son of Stephen and Margaret Hall of Ft. Branch, is a senior at Gibson Southern High School. Peter has successfully balanced athletics, academics and community service throughout the past four years. He is the Beta Club president, Class Secretary, SADD president, 4-H president, and is a DARE Role Model. He is also involved in the PEERS Project, Fifth Quarter, Saint Maria Goretti Catholic Youth Ministry and the school's golf and tennis teams. He has been named the MVP for the past two years on the tennis team and received the MVP award for the golf team his junior year. He plans to attend the University of Notre Dame and major in Mathematics.

Lilly Scholarship Alternates

Hayley Taylor, daughter of Bruce and Kathy Taylor of Owensville, is a senior at Gibson Southern High School. Throughout the past four years, Hayley has been heavily involved in the community, school activities and athletics while maintaining academic excellence. She is the Sports Editor for the school newspaper, teacher's assistant, tutor, softball instructor, softball co-captain and basketball co-captain. Aside from her positions in those activities, she participates in Sunshine Society, Student Council, Beta Club, National Society for High School Scholars, Evansville Frog Follies and has walked in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. During her athletic involvement, she received the Walgreens Student Athlete of the Month this last December. Hayley intends to attend the University of Evansville and study Medicine and Business.
