2008 Lilly Scholarship Recipients 

 

Photo DJ GraperD.J. Graper, son of Donald and Lisa Graper of Fort Branch, is a senior at Gibson Southern High School.  He has applied to Purdue University with plans to study agriculture.  D.J. is a distinguished member and currently the treasurer of the Future Farmers of America.  He is a 10-year member of 4-H, committee chairman of the Gibson Southern Test Plot Committee, and a member of the Soil, Crop and Livestock Evaluation Team. He is a member of the Gibson Southern High School Beta Club and has received the Academic Excellence Award.  D.J. is also an active member of the Gibson County Junior Leaders and the Gibson County Tractor Driving Club.

 

Photo Emily HirschEmily Hirsch, daughter of Mike and Beverly Hirsch of Fort Branch, is a senior at Gibson Southern High School.  She has applied to Purdue University with plans to study agriculture.  Emily is treasurer of the Sunshine Society and secretary of Future Farmers of America.  She is a member of the Student Council and the Beta Club and a freshman mentor.  She is also a 10 year member of 4-H, a Dare role model, and an active member of the Holy Cross Youth group.  Emily also ran cross country and track for four years at Gibson Southern.

 

 

 

2007 Lilly Scholarship Recipients

 

Photo Caitlin SchmittCaitlin Schmitt, daughter of Mark and Beth Schmitt of Fort Branch, is a senior at Wood Memorial High School.  She has applied to Purdue University with plans to study chemical engineering.  Caitlin is president of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Club and captain of the Math and English teams.  She is a member of the Drama Club and the Concert and Pep Bands and has been a class officer for Student Council.  She is also a member of 4-H, C.L.A.Y., has been a senate page for Senator Lindel Hume, and is a youth elder at her church.  In addition, Caitlin won the Kiwanis Mental Attitude Award in varsity golf and varsity track.  She also played basketball at Wood Memorial for three years.

         

 

Photo Chelsea ClevengerChelsea Clevenger, daughter of Barry Clevenger of Princeton and Karen Clevenger of Fort Branch, is a senior at Princeton Community High School.  She has applied to Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) with plans to study pre-med.  Chelsea is co-president of the Student Council and is also a member of the National Honor Society, French Club, Key Club and Environment Club.  She is a 10-year member of 4-H, involved in her Awana Church Club and has been a tutor for four years.  In addition, Chelsea has played basketball, volleyball and softball and participated in gymnastics.
